Mt KENYA CLIMB

Although Mount Kenya is the second highest summit in Africa it certainly scores the highest rating for mountaineering excellence with its highest summits Batian and Neilion and the last stronghold of ice and glaciers on the equator. As a peak that wouldn’t look out of place above the Chamonix valley it offers superb Alpine rock climbing its numerous high quality pitches to the summit. This is a climbers peak with only technical rock climbing and mountaineering leading through the fabled Gates of Mist between the towering tops of Batian and Nelion at 5199 metres. 

We deliver a guided climbing journey to both summits with a ratio of one guide to two climbers. From Shiptons camp we take the regular route involving superb climbing to the summit followed by multiple abseils back to the bottom. This is a catered and trip with all logistics in country provided for in the course. 

As part of this package to ensure the best success in Kenya and mountaineering weekend in the UK. Based in the Scottish Highlands we have a two day climbing trip ticking classics such as Tower Ridge on Ben Nevis to get us moving well on mountain rock. We also have an evening lecture on Mt Kenya and discuss kit and equipment that would be needed on the trip. 
The climbing will be led by IFMGA mountain guide Tom Ripley.
