SKYE SCRAMBLING

Our AACUK Skye scrambling and summer mountaineering course is designed to help develop the skills needed for roped scrambling and easier climbing. We deliver the course on the famous Skye Ridge on of the finest mountaineering and scrambling areas in the UK. During the course we focus on the following key areas.

Key areas: Belaying, anchors, placing traditional protection, natural protection and a self-managed abseil. We also look at climbing technique, route choice and understanding scrambling grades.

The course is based out of Glenbrittle although people accommodate themselves in various places on the island. We tend to use areas either on the Northern or Southern end of the Island.

We provide all technical equipment and can provide helmets and harnesses. We do not provide food, clothing or footwear.
