ADVANCED ROCK CLIMBING

Making the move from seconding to leading traditional rock climbs can be a daunting one. We are able to help coach and develop skills while managing your safety, giving you the piece of mind to focus on the technical skills required. 

Key areas are placement of traditional protection, anchor building, retreat from a climb, abseiling, safely bringing up a second, and route choice and selection. 

As leading is a more serious undertaking we ask participants to provide some background experience and also may climb a couple of shorter routes to refresh skills and make sure that leading is appropriate. We aim to coach leading with you leading the climbing while having the safety of someone to your side ensuring best practice. 



Our venues for this are often in the Aviemore, Fort William & Inverness area where a good selection of single and multi-pitch crags are on offer.
We can provide a harness, helmet and belay plate covered within your course cost. We don’t provide rock shoes however with some prior knowledge of the requirement and size we might be able to arrange something for you. We provide all the hardware and ropes required a long with a first aid kit and other mountain safety equipment.
