Britains iconic mountain draws crowds throughout the summer months but in winter, under snow, the Ben changes into a much more serious proposition. Ben Nevis in its Gaelic translation means the 'venomous one' - a no-nonsense indicator of what the weather can deliver. Although the main mountain track may not have involve technical climbing it does require the ability to use ice axe and crampons plus navigation skills and avalanche awareness. Ben Nevis poses a host of navigational problems: gullies from the Ben’s vast North Face cut into the mountain track and its large summit plateau can be very disorientating in whiteout conditions or cloud.

We offer a guided day with all technical equipment provided via the mountain track to the summit. With luck there will be great views across the North Face and of course it is always a superb mountaineering journey to the highest point in the UK.
All the skills required to use the technical equipment will be delivered on the way.

Open course days: During December, January, Febuary and March every Saturday and Sunday.
